ok, how about i ran out of time because i was tired. but i do want to finish this one.
we went to the park today and izzy loves the big slide. and its a BIG slide. I walk her up the steps and daddy stands at the side, follows her down and catches her at the bottom. I usually go back down the ladder because frankly my butt is pretty wide and i don't get much momentum.
anyway, i think i want to make a bigger drawing out of this one - possibly a painting. it started as just me helping iz up the steps. but i think i want to put her dad on the other side. maybe on multiple pieces of canvas.

anyway, this is what i've got so far....not much!

i did them, i swear!

i just haven't taken pictures yet.
but i did my assignments ;)

eyes

the first thing people always compliment izzy on are her eyes. i love looking at her eyes. they are so expressive and really just down right beautiful (if i do say so myself).

the 18 month 'well' visit

as i mentioned last night, our 18m pedi appointment was awful.
after a very, very, very, very, very long wait....wait, that needs one more very, izzy got one vaccination.


i hate these visits. :(

i used to be awesome

i was so proud of this painting. at the time i worked for a newspaper and this was published as a commemorative poster. while the subject matter might not be interesting to everyone, i think this is one of the few pieces in my portfolio that i am really proud of.

i used to be awesome.
i will be awesome again.

piiiddles?

izzy's favorites snack is 'piiiddles' (pickles). she sucks on them until they are mush if you dont cube them. its really pretty nasty.

i wont lie. this was a super quickie. we had a hellish night at the pediatrician for her 18m check-up.
so bad we are getting a new pedi.

i really need to hook up my scanner.

little mouse

last night i was laying in bed listening to izzy on the monitor. often she will make these cute little squeaking noises. she sounds like a little mouse. I imagined her making a little nest to keep warm and having dreams about cheese.

it looks nothing like her

i think i will stick to cartoon versions for a while. i'm not happy with this at all.
but in my defense, i was drawing it between jobs and couldnt fully concentrate.
...yeah....thats the excuse i am going with.


the eyes aren't quite right. the shape of her face should be softer. there are tons of things wrong here.

am i being too hard on myself? after all, i havent drawn anything in a really long time. this is frustrating.

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. i will scan them once i get my scanner hooked up. I didnt want to use 'the scanner isnt hooked up' excuse as an reason to miss days.

i wont lie. i feel pretty uncomfortable posting these, especially since i am so unhappy with the izzy drawing. but i guess that is kind of the point of this project.
